The frequency of chromosome aberrations in childern with chronic thyroiditis born before and after Chernobyl accident

Children with chronic thyroiditis born before and after Chernobyl accident have been investigated cytogenetically using G-banding staining. It was shown that the chromosome instability and sensitivity to cesium radioisotopes increased and the pathological process in a thyroid gland implemented in persons exposed to ¹³¹І in their childhood and living in iodine-deficient territories.
