SUMMARY. Co-dominant molecular-genetic marker csLV34 was used to examine a collection of common wheat varieties created in the main breeding centers of Ukraine and Russia from 1912 to 2011 years. Two allelic variants csLV34а and csLV34b associated, respectively, with the absence and presence of Lr34/Yr18/Pm38 gene were revealed. Allele csLV34b commonly found among varieties of Ukrainian selection, especially common in varieties of Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute (Odessa). The results can be used in breeding programs to select wheat varieties with the gene Lr34/Yr18/Pm38 for use in crossing with varieties carrying the race non-specific genes and develop new varieties with better resistance to fungal diseases.
